Paul Khawaja, President xwave and Vice President Bell Aliant
Paul leads all xwave operations, guiding the organization’s overall business direction and growth strategy in key vertical markets such as healthcare and government. Overseeing effective delivery of the organization’s Advanced Technology Solutions, IT Professional Services and Healthcare, Paul brings to xwave more than 15 years of operational and business development experience. Prior to joining the xwave organization, he held alliance management and business development positions with public sector organizations, for which he spearheaded go-to-market strategy development. Schooled in computer science and possessing a solid background in information technology, he has been instrumental in xwave’s success as an agent of change and innovation.

Nadeem Ahmed, Managing Director
Nadeem brings almost two decades of industry and public-sector experience to the xwave executive team. As Managing Director, Healthcare, he is responsible for managing the company’s national healthcare business across both geographies and lines of business. In this role, Nadeem is responsible for developing solutions that support the transformation of healthcare delivery. Before joining xwave in 2001, he fulfilled a business-development and marketing role with Microsoft Canada. He also held positions at JD Edwards and Digital Equipment (presently HP). He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo's Computer Science and Business Administration Program, and an eMBA (General Management Program) from Harvard Business School.

Chan Ghosh, Director, Operations
Chan brings to xwave more than 25 years of experience in the IT sector, in particular a strong customer service focus combined with expertise in aligning IT with business objectives. As part of his support around xwave’s healthcare solutions in Ontario and Western Canada, he manages the implementation, training and overall IT administration of xwaveEMR. Prior to joining xwave, Chan held the position of Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Symcor and Landmark Global Financial Corp. His career also includes senior management positions with Nortel Networks and Mackenzie Financial.

Dr. Sue Thomas, Medical Director
Dr. Sue Thomas is the former Chief Medical Officer at GE Healthcare’s Integrated IT Solutions (IITS) division. For the past decade, Sue has helped medical practices across North America adopt GE’s award-winning Centricity Electronic Medical Record. As Medical Director of xwave Healthcare, she serves as the voice of the customer, providing perspective on behalf of the practicing physician as xwave analyzes and addresses the ongoing challenges of medical information services.
Sue graduated from MIT and the Yale School of Medicine, then trained in Family Medicine at the University of Connecticut. Before becoming a physician, her undergraduate degree from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science led to employment at Hewlett Packard and Intel Corporation during the pioneering days of microprocessor development. This experience complemented her medical accreditations, and as a practicing physician in Maine for 15 years, she championed the use of the EMR both locally and nationally. Sue and her husband currently divide their time between Maine and Toronto.

Tom Conners, Sales Manager, Client Services
With more than 20 years of experience encompassing healthcare technology and global telecommunications, Tom provides sales leadership and client service around xwaveEMR. Tom supports clients with highly relevant expertise that includes management of worldwide billing and customer-care systems; EMR development and sales for a Canadian healthcare-technology firm; and the position of Transition Specialist at OntarioMD, where he helped implement Ontario's Physician IT Program. Tom has both an inherent understanding of physicians’ needs and a solid working knowledge of xwaveEMR, having been extensively involved in technical and contract development involving the Ontario Government's Smart Systems for Health Agency — now eHealth Ontario. Appreciating the challenges doctors face in migrating to EMR solutions, Tom works to ensure xwaveEMR makes the transition smooth while delivering optimal improvements.
MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD
Headed by Dr. Sue Thomas, the xwave Healthcare Medical Advisory Board members are:
Dr. David Daien
Dr. Daien is a family physician, Board Member and IT Lead with the Summerville Family Health Team in Mississauga, Ontario. The Summerville FHT is a five-site, multi-disciplinary facility supporting 31 physicians, all of whom use xwaveEMR. An ardent advocate of the benefits of information technology in clinical settings, Dr. Daien is an experienced user of IT in both office and hospital environments. He shares his knowledge as a peer-to-peer facilitator with OntarioMD, and as a medical-informatics consultant to eHealth Ontario as well as private healthcare-IT organizations. Dr. Daien has been an active member of the xwaveEMR user community since 2007. In addition to leading its adoption within Summerville, he has helped spearhead its integration with the hospital information systems (HIS) of the nearby 750-bed Trillium Health Centre. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Manitoba and a Medical degree from McMaster University.
Dr. Brian Devin
Dr. Devin is a family physician at the Osgoode Village Health Centre in Osgoode, Ontario. The practice is divided between family medicine office practice and hospital duties, providing ER coverage, inpatient care and surgical assistance at Winchester District Memorial Hospital. He has served as a Medical Officer at the National Defence Medical Centre and a Battalion Medical Officer for the First Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment (1 RCR) in Petawawa. He has been Chief of Staff at Winchester since November 2006 and was previously Chief of ER and President of Medical Staff. He holds an MD from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from McMaster University, and completed his Family Medicine Residency at Queen’s University.
Dr. Wendy Graham
Dr. Graham is founder of the Association of Family Health Teams of Ontario (AFHTO) and is the past Medical Director and Lead Physician at the Blue Sky Family Health Team in North Bay, Ontario. She has been in full-time comprehensive family practice for over 20 years, and has been recognized by the Canadian Medical Association for her influence in spearheading the team-based model of care in Northern Ontario. Dr. Graham is a past member of the CEO round table forLocal Health Integration Network (LHIN) 13, representing the district of Nipissing, and is presenting on the provincial e-Health and ALC committees for LHIN 13. She has received the 2004 Dr. Jean-Pierre Despins Award from the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and is the recipient of the 2002 Distinguished Service Award from the Ontario Medical Association. She is a past member of the Institute of Optimizing Patient Outcomes Board; the Canadian Council for Integrated Health Care; and the Ontario Medical Association Board of Directors. Dr. Graham is currently a member of several boards for eHealth innovations including the PharmaTrust Board for Canada, Annamatrix Canada, and the Annamatix US Advisory Board. Dr. Graham holds two Assistant Professorships at the University of Ottawa and the Northern Ontario Medical School.
Dr. Greg Higgins
Dr. Greg Higgins graduated from Queen's University in 1987 and is a family physician in Picton. He is the president of the Prince Edward Family Health Team and Lead Physician of the Picton Clinic Family Health Network. He has been involved with Queen's University as a preceptor of second year family medicine residents since 1996. He introduced xwaveEMR to the team in 2006 and all providers and Allied Health Practitioners in the team currently have access to shared medical records. This has allowed extensive collaboration and integration of care. He has introduced numerous projects related to information technology to the team including a Telehomecare pilot, telemedicine, team communication infrastructure, xwave/Meditech Interface pilot and Store and Forward Teledermatology pilot.
Dr. Rich Trenholm
Dr. Trenholm is a family physician at the Lakeview Family Health Organziation, and IT lead for the Algonquin Family Health Network in Huntsville, Ontario. He practices family medicine with a special interest in Obstetrics and Emergency Medicine. He graduated from Medicine at McMaster University after completing an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph and a Masters of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster. He subsequently completed a rural family medicine residency through the University of Ottawa's Northeastern Ontario Family Medicine program in Sudbury. He is an Associate Professor with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and the Northeastern Ontario Family Medicine residency program. He has been exclusively using xwaveEMR since June 2006.
Dr. Richard Wiginton
Dr. Wiginton is a physician at the Brighton Family Health Team in Brighton, Ontario. He is a former lead physician and Chair of the Brighton FHT and FHN, and for four years was a Member and Medical Director of the Board of the Brighton Health Services Centre. During his schooling he received numerous awards and scholarships; he has a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from Queen’s and obtained his MD and residency in Family Medicine at Queen’s University. Dr. Wiginton served in the reserves of the Canadian Armed Forces and worked for six summers in the Fort Henry Guard in Kingston, Ontario.
